Rain Barrels 101Rain Barrel

Our beautiful Capital Region receives over 1,000mm of rain every year.  Despite rainwater being a valuable resource, we often let it go down the drain as stormwater, where it can flood our streams and creeks, causing erosion and habitat loss.  By collecting rainwater from our rooftops, we can slow the flow of water leaving our properties AND use the water on our lawns and gardens to help replenish our groundwater.

Harvesting rain water is an effective way to improve the health of our watersheds. How can I get involved?

  1. Learn Online - Interested in learning more about protecting our watersheds and wise water use? Get some quick tips and links to interesting publications about these topics and more.
  2. Take the Pledge - From pesticide-free gardening to washing your car on your lawn, there's something for everyone. Pledge today to restore, improve and enhance our local watersheds and harbours and get another chance to win a rain barrel.

LEARN. PLEDGE. WIN.
