Sustainable Laundry 101

With clothesline mania sweeping across the Capital Region, it's obvious that Sustainable Laundry 101 has caused quite the buzz. Unfortunately, registration for The free Sustainable U clothesline kit giveaway period has ended but you can still make a commitment to energy savings in the laundry room by building your own clothesline at home.

The Sustainable Laundry 101 crew hosted a giveaway of clothesline kits in front of the CRD Headquarters last Thursday. Watch the You Tube video of the fun!

Making your commitment to energy savings in the laundry room can be as easy as turning a switch. On average, 90% of the energy used by your washing machine goes to heating the water. An easy way to save on your energy bills and tread a little lighter on the environment is to wash your clothes in cold water.

Come out to Langford and celebrate summer on Monday, July 19, 2010. Pick up one of our remaining Sustainable U Clothesline Kits courtesy of the CRD, BC Hydro Power Smart and Windsor Plywood and help us achieve our goal of 1,000 new laundry lines in the Capital Region.
