Sustainable Laundry 101

Changing Habits in the Laundry Room

ClotheslineSort your clothes.
Throw them in the wash.
Toss them in the dryer.

Wait a minute! This regular routine can be changed to save money and energy at the same time.

Sort your clothes.
Throw them in the cold water wash.
Hang them on the line to dry.

The first 1000 participants in this course will receive a FREE Sustainable U clothesline package, courtesy of Windsor Plywood, to help you lower your electricity consumption. Each package comes in a reusable cloth bag and includes a clothesline, wooden clothes pegs, a laundry scoop, and information on how you can save money and reduce your impact through low carbon living!

The clothesline can be used either outdoors or indoors and is fully retractable when not in use so it is perfect for single family homes, apartments, and condominiums too.

And if you sign up to become a member of BC Hydro's Team Power Smart, you can take advantage of great programs, incentives and rebates all year round.
