Create Memories, Not Garbage.
That's the message the CRD is spreading this holiday by offering residents ideas on how to put a green twist on gifts. Partnering with Metro Vancouver, we are spreading the word on experiential giving, and we have lots of great ideas including bungee jumping for adventurous types like Lena, or something as simple as giving the gift of time which seems to be in short supply for many of us.
Are you a conservation ambassador? Why not make a donation on behalf of family or friends? The Land Conservancy (TLC) is a non-profit Land Trust that works to protect important habitats for plants, animals and natural communities. TLC currently has a number of active campaigns that can be given support directly through their website. Or get even closer to nature and encourage a healthy life style by experiencing our region's natural habitats firsthand. Invite someone to hike one of our spectacular parks, such as Albert Head Lagoon Regional Park or one of the CRD's newest parks, Jordan River Regional Park Reserve.
There are so many great things to experience in our region. This holiday season, help cut down on waste, and in turn give someone a gift they will truly remember. Check out more green ideas at www.crd.bc.ca/waste/recycle/holidayrecycling.htm
