Got a song in your heart? Do you enjoy the sound of rushing waterfalls at the Sooke Potholes? Did you have an incredible bike ride along the Lochside trail? Or perhaps you just love to watch the eagles soar along our coastal region.
However you connect with your green persona, the EcoTunes Songwriters contest is once again looking for artists to share their experiences of the region's natural areas. You don't have to be famous, you just have to sing it in the key of sustainability.
Ecotunes second annual songwriter's contest will run from July 27 to August 19, 2012 at midnight in the CRD, offering another chance for local, amateur and professional songwriters of all ages to celebrate the Capital Region's landscapes and natural areas through music. There will be three prizes to win: $500, $50 and $25 dollar gift certificates to Larsen Music for first, second and third place prizes. So get that banjo you've always wanted or get yourself some guitar lessons - the choice is yours.
The first prize winner will also be invited to perform their song at the 2012 EcoStar Awards Ceremony on September 11, 2012 in Victoria.
To enter follow these steps:
Our regional musicians have the ability to teach us about the beauty of the natural world and the great things that happen within it. EcoTunes is a great chance to acknowledge and celebrate the songwriters that help make the Capital Region a culturally vibrant place to live. Submit your song today!
