Transportation Tune Up 2011

Transportation Tune-Up

Our region is on the move. Currently 78% of all trips in the Capital Region are made by private vehicles - generating air pollution and causing both congestion and frustration on the roads.

But what if there was a way that we could tune up our behavior to make it easier for everyone to get around?

The Transportation Tune-Up (TTU) was a train-the-trainer program that aims to educate citizens on fuel efficient driving techniques, vehicle rebate programs, and greener travel choices. The goal of the program is to inspire action at home, work and play to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through driving smarter and shifting how we get around.

How can I get involved?

  1. Join the Faculty- Download the tools and learn how to save money, gas and reduce emissions through smart travel choices, then spread the word to others.
  2. Learn Online as a TTU Student - Not enough time to join the faculty?  Get some quick tips about transportation choices that can save you money and reduce your carbon emissions.
  3. Take the TTU Pledge - From driving to cycling to walking, there's something for everyone.  Pledge today to reduce the impact of your travel and help our region get our GHG's below the national average.

LEARN. PLEDGE. SPREAD THE WORD.

Congratulations to Sandra from Saanich!  She pledged to cycle to reduce GHG's and won a new bike!
